Water Access Regina -- Access to city water is now conditional on the surrender of your privacy.

The new City of Regina water meter policy constitutes snatching from your hands the control of access to some very important private information. No surrender? Shutoffs are starting now.

What exactly is the private information that is at stake?

I grant access to some personal information all the time in exchange for access to services I want to use.  How is what the City of Regina  is asking for different?

What might be reasonable for a homeowner to ask of the City of Regina?

But the city really means no harm!

What Can I Do?

  • Read and understand what the City of Regina says it is doing.
  • Contact the Regina Water Utility and ask for
    • exemption from hourly monitoring
    • the ability to self-report your water usage on a monthly basis
  • Contact your City Councillor (and maybe all of the councillors, as well as the Mayor) and voice your concern.
  • Find ways to spread the word about this matter to others, using the resources available to you.
